An exercise in frustration |
This product should not be purchased if any of the following apply to your circumstances:
(1) You do not have an Auxillary Input on your stereo system AND live in a place where most of the FM dial is full.
(2) You wish to install this yourself--if you have a LOT of patience and can manage to place the antenna wire around your rear window as the installation procedure calls for--we managed to, but it would only go around one way--the other way around the rear window, it would get jammed for some reason. Also, the wire ended up getting exposed a bit in some spots, even when using a plastic putty tool.
(3) You purchase the item in Canada--not through Mychildrensstore or some other way in the US--and wish to get the "A La Carte"--the cheapest package at $6.99USD. No one at Sirius Canada or USA, except for 1 upper level manager seem to "think" that this is why this unit, which apparently is supposed to be "A La Carte" compatible ISN'T--if purchased in Canada--having a U.S. Debit/Credit Card to access the US website to sign up was not the problem.
(4) You wish to get decent and quick customer service. I wasted hours to install and on the phone-on hold, and then trying to get someone who could help me. At the end, Sirius customer service, be it Chris, Sandra-a manager, and Stella--none of them would help me--Stella wasn't even willing to offer future Canadian callers a warning (much less a warning on line)--that this model is not compatible with A La Carte if the unit is purchased in Canada. |

Don't Drop |

This is very poorly made. The fisrt week I had it. I dropped it no more then 15 inches on to the floor of my truck and cracked the screen. Plus the warranty is crap and if you call Sirius, they will put you on hold for 25 minutes before transferring two or three times because nobody can do anything. I think the satellite radio would be nice but this radio and the costumer service is pathetic even in a recession. |
