I bought this machine because it was the only vcr being sold at my local Target and it was on sale for the weekend for $65. It worked. The old VHS tapes played okay but not great with some skipping. but since I didn't have a dvd player either for the third tv which is not hooked up to cable, I wasn't too picky. It worked with my Philips flattv which is hooked up to cable just fine. I have no idea what the complaints are about. I've had it about a year and it is still working. |

Hard to Find |

This product is hard to find with the advent of Blu-ray and no one really using VHS tapes anymore. But my parents needed one and so i searched and finally found. They definitely don't make them like they used to. . .hard plastic body and it came delivered it the box. . not additional packing!? What is up with that?? Guess it would be easy enough to buy another one but you would think they would package it better. Overall, the product works fine and the picture quality is fine. No complaints with the end product. |

pleased but questions |
The product operates well; I was not aware it did not include a cable tv tuner.
I would appreciate the mfr. 1. send a complete instruction catalog;
2.advise if I can puchase a suitable tuner from
them. |

I set this unit up with a Philips PH 61159 modulator. In other words I hooked up the two units to an old TV that only has a 75 ohm F connector on the back. This allowes both a roof antenna and this combo unit to be connected to an older TV doesn't have RCA inputs. This arrangement worked great until the HD switchover. Now I'm going to add an HD converter box until it's time to buy a new television. For playing movies from VHS tapes and DVDs this unit works great. This unit has been light use since December 2008. No issues. |
