This puller works just as described, in fact even better than I'd expected.
Nowhere on the Jabsco web site or other on-line sales pages does it claim to remove the impeller WITHOUT DAMAGE TO THE IMPELLER. All the advertising copy focuses on "no damage to the housing". I was expecting that the puller would destroy the impeller during the removal process.
In my experience, the impeller can be pulled without damage; the same impeller can be re-installed and used again assuming there isn't OTHER damage to the impeller.
The hooks on the puller legs are sharp and dig into the neoprene; but I have not torn or distorted the neoprene yet.
Maybe you're dealing with impellers that are stuck more tightly to the shaft; in that case I suppose impeller damage is possible. For me, that hasn't been a problem!
My puller was "packaged" in the UK, and "Made in HU". From Hungary to England to USA. Well, that beats the hell out of "Made in China" although I'd certainly prefer it to be made in USA. |

Impeller Puller saves hours |
I have a Malibu V-Drive, and some brilliant engineer placed the water pump and impeller facing the rear of the engine compartment with virtually no hand room to work. I spent a couple of hours with screwdrivers, vice grips, etc, but couldn't get the impeller off of the shaft. I used this Impeller Puller and had it out and replaced in about 10 minutes. Worth every penny.
