As long as there are treats inside
My older puppy figured this one out right away. Roll the ball, get a treat so he was rolling it all over the place. The younger one kept picking it up and shaking it and then she tried to stick her tongue inside to get the treats. We got a good laugh out of it. But from watching the other one she finally got it. But once the treats are gone they don't want it anymore. It is a good toy though. Can't chew it up. Worth the money.

Omega Tricky Treat Ball, Small
Omega Paw Tricky Treat Ball, Small

My seventeen year old Jack Russell Terrier loves this ball. At first, he was mystified as to how much of shove to give to get the ball to roll, and wether to use his nose or his paw. The nose won, and now we have a very old dog doing new tricks. So much joy and great gentle exercise.

Good size even for a Chihuahua
Our 9 pound chihuahua loves this even though it is larger than her head. As soon as the first piece of food dropped out she understood what she needed to do. She nudges it around with her nose and bats it with her paws every morning--almost like a game of soccer! This ball gives her exercise and stimulates her mind. It is pretty durable but it is definitely not a chew toy, so for heavy chewers I'd take it away after the treats are gone. This is easier to use than a treat cube since it rolls nicely (although that also makes it less challenging). If you have a curious and playful dog, this is highly recommended no matter how big they are--since it rolls any size dog can push it around!

A keeper!
My yorkie/bichon adores this. I fill it with cheerios as a treat and he loves to chase it around the house....took him awhile to figure out how to get the treats out, but now he's got a system! ;)

Maybe the best dog toy ever
I have a ten month old 40 lbs Boarder Collie / Jack Russell mix (yea I know how did that happen). He is a very smart dog and needs work to keep busy. If he does not have work he'll find his own, which is really, REALLY not a good thing. He is quite rough on toys. Any thing soft stuffed only lasts hours before it's shredded. He can empty a Kong in a few minutes. I bought him the large version of this ball at my trainers recommendation and he LOVES it. I load it with about a cup of kibble and that keeps him busy for about an hour. I often give it to him before leaving the home which eliminates separation anxiety barking. I also have the similar Twist and Treat cone which he likes, but he seems to prefer this toy more. The Twist and Treat can be adjusted to make it tough or easy to get the kibble out, but it does not hold as much food. They are both good. The Twist and Treat however stays in place more where he is all over the house with this ball. These two toys and the Kong are the only things he has not destroyed in an afternoon. For smart dogs food puzzle are simple the best toys EVER and this is a very good one.
