Customer Reviews for  'Kolcraft Tour Sport Umbrella Stroller with Adjustable Canopy'

Another wheel-kicker, but worth it despite flaws
Other tall reviewers said they could push this comfortably, but I don't see how. I'm 5'7" and I kick the wheels and have to hunch a little. My husband likes the stroller so much he wanted to devise "arm extenders." I assume he means handle extenders since he's not a surgeon. This one detail (is it a flaw if every umbrella stroller is too short?) makes this stroller uncomfortable for long walks (>mile) but it is still my favorite stroller for a quick walk to the store or to have in the trunk in case I need it. We started using this stroller at 3 1/2 months (good head control), and our little guy was comfortable from the start. I can echo other reviewers about the nearly-useless sun shade (I pin on a cotton blanket), and the fold mechanism is not sandal-friendly. But for an inexpensive stroller, we are very impressed, and plan to use it for travel and other times our full size stroller (Joovy Kooper) is too big.

Kind of a pain, but a decent stroller overall
After buying the Contours three wheeler and not using it even once (the thing is HUGE) with our 21.5 lb 10-month old, I paid less than $40 for this Tour Sport, figuring it would be the right weight and have the right features for our needs in an umbrella stroller.

Pros: lightweight-ish; maneuverable; folds easily; good recline for an umbrella stroller; decent sized canopy and mesh pocket for your spare diapers and wallet; with wheels locked, stands when folded and leaning.

Cons: canopy placement is a little odd, especially since canopy must be collapsed and TAKEN OFF to fold the stroller -- this is a huge design flaw; latch is not fixed, so I find myself holding a squirmy baby, needing an extra hand or two to find, turn and affix the latch to the folded stroller frame; short handles or wrong angle mean that both I (5'5") and husband (6'5") kick the wheels -- he more than me, obviously, but even I find myself standing alongside and pushing (which isn't terrible; see note about maneuverability, above).

A Video Review on the Tour Sport Stroller
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1JXQJGZMYJJS7 Before purchasing the Kolcraft Tour Sport Umbrella stroller we tried multiple other products. What we found is that most umbrella strollers are designed for people under 5' tall (or so it seems). While the Kolcraft umbrella stroller isn't perfect it is better than most. The best part is that our daughter loves the stroller. She has the ability to swing her feet while having the ability to see everything that is going on around her.

A few notes

- Total weight of about 5lbs
- It does have a net and a cup holder
- My wife does complain that the stroller is still a little too small - she kicks the wheel while walking. If you have a long walking stride this may become an issue.
- While the unit does fold/collapse - it isn't as easy as I would like it. It certainly requires two hands
- Front wheels swivel 360 degrees
- The seat is suspended fabric... meaning that you baby/toddler is not sitting across a metal bar.
- Lap belt only - the stroller does not have any shoulder restraints
- The canopy is removable, but it doesn't serve much of a purpose. The canopy really isn't big enough to provide much protection from rain or sun.

Final Verdict - I would prefer if it was easier to collapse, but as a whole we are very happy with our purchase.

4 1/2 Stars

You get what you pay for
I wanted a simple, lightweight, easy-to-haul, and fairly-cheap stroller. That is what I got! Overall, the stroller is OK. I don't really like the steering, although what can I expect for the price? I like the adjustable seat. I like that it has a shade, although every time I fold the stroller the shade canopy goes flying off! A little irritating, although it does it's job when it is on the stroller and being used. Except for when my son plays with the shade constantly and moves it down past his head, therefore defeating the purpose of shading his head!! I also like the cup holder and the little bag in the back for holding small items. Overall, a good stroller for the price. Another thing - I don't care for the three point harness. Too easy for my son to squirm out. Should have thought about it more and bought one with a five point.

great purchase
Happy with me purchase. Wanted something at my home for my grandson. This is much nicer than I expected.
