I like this GPS, especially for the price |
I purchased this GPS last year and it has come in handy quite a few times. I did have a Magellan Roadmate that I was replacing so this definitely was a good choice. There are a few things that I found to be disappointing. The POI's were not completely accurate. For example, I have 3 Trader Joe's stores near me but it only showed 2 of them. Also, the voice options are not that great. I read in a previous customer review that one of the choices was a British accent, but turned out not to be the case. And even though lifetime traffic is a great bonus, it doesn't calculate the estimated time to destination based on the traffic. So when I need to check the ETA based on traffic, I check my map on my iphone.
I do love the lane assist and the automatic recalculation of route when necessary. Also, the speed signs are nice, even though they aren't always accurate. The display is easy to see, day & night and you can have it repeat the directions if needed.
For the price, it is definitely a overall winner.

New maps available |
|
I was really disappointed in Navigon when they pulled out of the US market however I received an email yesterday stating new maps were available. Sure enough Q3 maps are ready for download. So if you have freshmaps be sure to check and get the new update. |

Beware, Navigon is out of business! |
I bought my Navigon a little over a year ago. Its performance has been mixed, in line with much of the reviews here, but I've generally been happy with it.
However, I can unequivocally state that you should NOT buy this product. Navigon has abruptly left the North American market, leaving customers, even those who purchased a device and map updates within the year, almost completely without support. If you buy one of these, you're buying a dead device with no hope of updates. |

Navigon, do not buy!!!! |
|
The unit may work, for awhile. The warranty is non existant, navigon is a bunch of liars!!!! You will pay 250 - 300 dollars for any of the units. Buy a TomTom or Garmin, same features, voice to text, turn by turn navigation. Oh they will answer the phone on their tech support. Not the brightest chaps in the world but they are there and they do try. If you are half decent to them, they will do everything the script allows them too. Navigon, their basic reply is buff off you d*&*n american. |
